Abstract

D. I. Yogyakarta dianggap sebagai wilayah ideal dalam akses pendidikan. Namun, realitanya ada benturan kualitas pendidikan dan akses pendidikan yang belum merata. Ketidakmerataan akses pendidikan dilihat melalui Pemikiran Bourdieu dalam aspek habitus, modal, dan medan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana ketersediaan sekolah di pendidikan menengah atas di D.I Yogyakarta dan bagaimana kerangka teori Bourdieu melihat fenomena akses pendidikan menengah atas di D.I Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menganalisis data sekunder yaitu data BPS, DAPODIK, data Kemenag yang kemudian disinkronkan dengan peraturan Pemerintah Provinsi D. I. Yogayakarta. Temuan dari penelitian ini antara lain 1) dominasi sekolah swasta di pendidikan menengah atas, 2) kebijakan zonasi (domisili) memberikan akses pada naiknya jumlah sekolah swasta, 3) perbedaan pembiayaan pada sekolah swasta menjadi langkah awal terciptanya eksklusifitas pada pendidikan menengah atas D.I. Yogyakarta. Analisis pada ketiga temuan mengarah pada kondisi pendidikan menengah atas menunjukkan adanya lapisan-lapisan yang dipengaruhi oleh habitus, modal, dan medan dari peserta didik. Maka dari itu bisa disimpulkan bahwa, sistem pendidikan yang berkembang semakin mengarah pada lebarnya kesenjangan yang dialami oleh peserta didik dengan latar belakang sosial yang berbeda.
